Long work hours in deep dark  gold mines of the area made that shower feel ooohhhh sooo delightful!  Give this Grandma's Soap recipe a try!  Wives would make lye soap once per year after  the season's harvest, or saving bacon grease from their breakfast, straining out the protien bits to purify, then "putting it up" in canning jars for use in soap, cooking and baking.  After canning, this clean grease fat is called Lard, and makes the most flakey pie crusts!
